Voltaren Pain Gel® is used for the local treatment of pain from bruises, strains and sprains, which are common in sports injuries. The main active ingredient is Voltaren®.

Other ingredients include perfume cream and purified water. Voltaren Pain Gel® contains twice the concentration of the active ingredient as a Voltaren tablet, which is why it is ideally applied to intact skin every 12 hours, i.e. twice a day. Voltaren Schmerzgel® is absorbed by the skin and thus reaches the deeper layers to the site of the painful and inflamed tissue.

There it then unfolds its full effect.Never apply Voltaren Schmerzgel® to open injuries. Inflammation and skin irritation can be the result! After using the pain gel, wash and dry your hands thoroughly.

Voltaren Pain Gel® is recommended for use by adults and teenagers 14 years of age and older for up to three weeks at a time. Voltaren® Dispers is the administration form for making a suspension solution by dissolving the tablets in a glass of water. It is intended for short-term use for a maximum of two weeks and is particularly suitable for patients with problems swallowing tablets.

If you need to take Voltaren® over a longer period of time, a different dosage form than Voltaren dispers® is recommended. The effects are also pain and inflammation inhibition. Voltaren® Dispers is excellent for acute joint inflammation, pain from joint wear and tear, and injuries.

Take Voltaren® Dispers only as directed by your doctor. The daily dose for an adult is usually one to three tablets. Voltaren® Dispers should not be taken under the age of 18.

Therefore, keep it away from children. If you have an intolerance to Voltaren® Dispers or interaction with other medications, you should consult your physician! Voltaren® Resinate is taken in the form of hard capsules, unchewed with at least one glass of water during or after a meal.

The maximum recommended daily dose is between 50 and 150 mg. It should not be exceeded! The drug is freely available in low doses, but a higher dose is only available on prescription.

In addition to the active ingredient diclofenac, Voltaren® resinate hard capsules contain medicinal charcoal, iron oxide and gelatine, among other things. The elongated hard capsules made of gelatine mass contain the above-mentioned active ingredient in their hollow space. Voltaren® Resinate is not crushed or pulled apart before ingestion in order not to impair the delayed release of the active ingredient.

The special feature of Voltaren® Resinate is the increased risk of hypersensitivity reactions. These can manifest themselves in the form of swelling of the face, tongue or respiratory tract and, if left untreated, can lead to respiratory distress or even shock. These reactions are particularly common in patients with neurodermatitis or hay fever.

In addition, there is a risk of poisoning if certain drugs are taken at the same time by reaching high concentrations of active ingredients in the blood. These include: methotrexate, which is used for rheumatism and cancer, the heart medication digoxin and lithium, which is used for depression. In addition, interactions with blood sugar-lowering drugs in diabetes therapy are known. Due to the high concentration of active ingredients, Voltaren® resinate is only available in stores from the age of 18. If you notice any undesirable side effects or any of the reactions described above, it is essential that you consult a physician to initiate suitable countermeasures!
