Typhoid Abdominalis: Medical History

Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of typhoid abdominalis.

Family history

  • What is the current health status of your family members?

Social history

  • Have you been on vacation? If so, what country were you in?

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Have you noticed any symptoms of an influenza-like infection?
  • How long have these symptoms persisted?
  • Do you have a fever? If so, how high is the fever? Does it fluctuate during the day?
  • Do you suffer from gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea or constipation?
  • If so, what does the bowel movement look like?
  • Have you noticed any skin changes?
  • Do you have a fever? If so, what is your body temperature?

Vegetative anamnesis incl. nutritional anamnesis.

  • Have you eaten raw foods recently?
  • Have you possibly drunk impure water?

Self history including medication history.
