Urethral Stricture: Diagnostic Tests

Obligatory medical device diagnostics.

  • Sonographic residual urine determination
  • Renal sonography (ultrasound examination of the kidneys) including the draining urinary tract – exclusion of consecutive urinary retention.
  • Uroflowmetry (urine flow measurement) – examination to measure the urine stream (volume per unit time) during micturition.
  • Retrograde cystourethrography (imaging of the urinary bladder and urethra by retrograde contrast application) – to detect urethral stricture.

Optional medical device diagnostics – depending on the results of the history, physical examination, laboratory diagnostics and obligatory medical device diagnostics – for differential diagnostic clarification.
