Medical history (history of illness) is an important component in the diagnosis of urethral stricture (urethral narrowing).

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • What symptoms have you noticed?
  • How long has the symptomatology been present?
  • Do you have pain when urinating?
  • How often do you have to urinate during the day?
  • Do you feel that the bladder does not empty completely when you urinate?
  • Has the urine changed in color, quantity, odor, etc.?
  • Has the urethra ever been injured?

Self anamnesis incl. medication anamnesis

  • Pre-existing conditions (diseases of the urinary tract, infections).
  • Surgeries (transurethral procedures/interventions through the urethra).
