Urinary Bladder Pain: Test and Diagnosis

2nd order laboratory parameters – depending on the results of the history, physical examination and obligatory laboratory parameters – for differential diagnostic clarification.

  • Small blood count
  • Differential blood count
  • Inflammatory parameters – CRP (C-reactive protein) or ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate).
  • Urine status (pH, total protein, etc) including urine sediment (erythrocytes, leukocytes, squamous cells, bacteria, cylinders).
  • Urine cytology – e.g., in suspected bladder cancer (urinary bladder cancer).
  • Urine culture (bacteriology: pathogens and resistance).
  • Fluorine diagnostics (determination of cellular, bacterial and parasitic components of the vaginal discharge, which is increasingly formed and excreted during inflammation) and urethral smear (urethral smear) – to exclude microbial or mycotic infections.
