Use as tea

A proven dosage form of meadow goatee is tea. Boiled plant parts should be left to infuse for 10 minutes, otherwise the active ingredients of the tea will not be absorbed sufficiently. For the preparation theoretically all plant parts can be used, since the entire plant is edible.

However, the flowers are particularly well suited for the preparation of a tea. The Wiesengeißbarttee usually tastes slightly sweetish to herbaceous-harsh. Fields of application result from the spectrum of activity of the ingredients.

For example, the intake of Wiesengeißbarttee can help with feverish infections or rheumatic complaints. Its use as a regular medication or even as a substitute for “blood-thinning” (anticoagulant) drugs is not recommended, as the amount of the herbal active ingredient varies from plant to plant and is therefore very imprecise. In addition, the salicylic acid contained in the meadow goatee damages the stomach mucous membrane when taken continuously, since the production of the protective mucous layer in the stomach is reduced and the acid of the gastric juice can thereby attack the mucous membrane.
