Valoron® N retard

ExplanationDefinition

Valoron ® N retard is a common painkiller from the group of opioids and is used for strong and very strong chronic pain of various causes. The term “retard” describes the longer-lasting effect when taken (longer than 12 hours) as opposed to non-retarded preparations. To protect against abuse, Valoron consists of the painkilling component tilidine on the one hand and the opioid counterpart naloxone on the other. When administered intravenously, naloxone cancels out the effect of tilidine, thus preventing misuse (substitute drug) of the drug by drug addicts.
