Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of varicose veins (varicose veins).

Family history

  • Is there a frequent occurrence of connective tissue diseases or varicose veins in your family?

Social history

  • What is your profession?
  • Do you have to stand most of the time in your job?

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Have you been able to determine the following?
    • Dull pain in the legs after standing for a long time.
    • Feeling of pressure in the legs after standing for a long time
    • Feeling of heaviness in the legs
    • Feeling of tension in the legs
    • Slight lower leg edema (increase in circumference due to water retention).
  • Have you noticed any skin changes on the lower legs?

Vegetative anamnesis incl. nutritional anamnesis.

  • Are you overweight? Please tell us your body weight (in kg) and height (in cm).
  • Do you often wear tight and constricting clothing?
  • Do you get enough exercise every day?
