Vesicles and Bullae: Medical History

Medical history (history of the patient) represents an important component in the diagnosis of vesicles.

Family History

  • What is the general health of your relatives?
  • Are there any diseases in your family that are common?
  • Are there any hereditary diseases in your family?

Social history

  • What is your profession?
  • Are you exposed to harmful working substances in your profession?

Current medical history/systemic medical history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Where are the vesicles or blisters localized? Only in one area or distributed over the entire body?
  • Since when do the vesicles or blisters exist?
  • Are the skin lesions painful?
  • Was there a trigger for the vesicle or blister formation that you are aware of?
  • Were there any other symptoms or complaints that preceded the formation of the vesicles or blisters?
  • Are there other symptoms such as fever, general feeling of illness, etc.?
