Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of viral warts.

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • What complaints have you noticed?
  • How long have these complaints existed?
  • Where did you notice the skin changes?
  • Are they changing in appearance, getting bigger?

Vegetative anamnesis including nutritional history.

  • Do you have frequently changing sexual partners?
  • Do you have unprotected sexual intercourse?
  • What sexual practices do you engage in?
  • Do you attach much importance to your and your partner’s genital hygiene?
  • Do you go regularly to cancer screening?
  • Do you frequently spend time in swimming pools or saunas?
  • Do you smoke?
  • Do you use drugs? If yes, which drugs and how often per day or per week?
