Wala Sage Throat Pastilles

Wala Sage Throat Pastilles were approved in many countries in 1980 as a drug in the form of dragées (pastilles). On September 1, 2019, distribution was discontinued because the former and long-time contract manufacturer had suspended production.

Ingredients

Per pastille:

  • Salviae extractum aquosum 6.4 mg (Aqueous sage extract).
  • Plantaginis extractum aquosum 6.4 mg (Aqueous ribwort extract).
  • Piceae summitatum extractum aquosum 6.4 mg (Aqueous extract of spruce needles).
  • Salviae aetheroleum 538 µg (Sage essential oil)
  • Aromatica (aromatic substances): eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil, thyme oil.
  • Saccharum (sugar)

Effects

The ingredients have anti-inflammatory, anti-irritant, sedative, antimicrobial and antispasmodic properties, among others.

Indications for use

For cold-related inflammation of the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat, such as hoarseness and pharyngitis.

Dosage

According to manufacturer’s directions. Melt two to three pastilles in the mouth several times daily.
