What else should I consider?

Refobacin® can only be taken for a period of up to one week. If there is no improvement after this period, a new visit to the doctor should be made, as the germs may be resistant to gentamicin. Then a change of the antibiotic is necessary.

If the next antibiotic should also fail, it is advisable to prepare a so-called antibioogram. Here, a smear of the affected skin area is taken to determine which antibiotic the germs respond to.
