What is the degree of disability for a spondylodesis?

Spondylodesis is a difficult and irreversible procedure that sometimes results in significant movement restrictions for the patient. Whether and to what degree of disability (GdB) there is for a spondylodesis depends on how many vertebrae have been stiffened and the pain that may exist after the operation. If large parts of the spinal column are stiffened, patients are entitled to a GdB between 50 and 70. In less severe cases, patients receive a GdB of 20 to 40.
