What is the difference to a neck fistula?

A neck fistula is a weeping connection between a neck cyst and the skin surface. If a neck cyst becomes inflamed, the pus contained in it can be emptied through this connection. In contrast to a neck cyst, a neck fistula is not a closed cavity with fluid, but represents a duct structure from the throat to the outer surface of the skin on the neck.
