When must the vaccination be refreshed?

The booster vaccination after a basic immunization of infants with Infanrix hexa is given after six months at the earliest. The optimal time for the booster depends on whether the child has been vaccinated twice or three times with Infanrix before. In the case of two vaccinations, this is best done before the age of 18 months. In the case of triple vaccination, the booster should preferably be given between the 11th and 13th month of life. The pediatrician or family doctor will tell you when the booster is to be given.

Are there alternatives?

In most cases, vaccination with Infanrix provides reliable protection against serious diseases, which in the past caused many children to suffer long-term consequences or even die. There is no alternative to vaccination to reliably protect children. One can only vaccinate against the diseases individually instead of the sixfold vaccine, but this usually has no advantage.

Whoever refuses a vaccination to his child exposes him to a life-threatening danger. In addition, newborns who cannot yet be vaccinated depend on all older children and adults in the population being vaccinated so that no transmission of the germs is possible. Those who do not have their children vaccinated also harm other children and other unprotected people.
