Which glue can be used?

To fix the eyelash extension, you should only use a special eyelash glue. This is available in every drugstore. Test before the first application whether you are allergic to components of the glue.

How to remove an eyelash extension?

You can have the eyelash extension professionally removed by an experienced beautician or remove it yourself at home. If you remove the lashes yourself, there is a higher risk of losing your own lashes. You need a solvent for the eyelash glue (remover) for the eyelash removal.

First you have to remove make-up and mascara from the eyes. Next, you should stick an eye pad under the lower eyelid to protect your eye from the solvent. Then apply the remover with a special cosmetic stick and let it work for about 5 minutes with closed eye.

Afterwards you can remove the artificial eyelashes from your own eyelashes with a cosmetic stick. If an artificial eyelash cannot be brushed down, you can carefully help with tweezers. After the artificial lashes have been completely removed, clean the lashes thoroughly with water or eyelash shampoo and finally apply a care product (e.g. castor oil).

Disadvantages of an eyelash extension

An eyelash extension does not only bring advantages. A big disadvantage is the high cost of an eyelash extension. In a beauty salon these costs are between 120-400 Euro for a treatment with lash extensions.

In addition, the lashes usually only last for 3-4 weeks, so that you have to visit the cosmetician every month. Another disadvantage is the time required (1-2 hours) for an eyelash extension. Artificial eyelashes often react sensitively to oil and fat, which is why oil and fat-free makeup removers should be used. A further disadvantage is that when removing the eyelash extension, own eyelashes are often also removed and the lashes continue to thicken and break off.

Eyelash extension with single lashes

Eyelash extension with single lashes is often performed by beauticians. Here artificial eyelashes are glued onto the lash line, thus thickening and lengthening the lashes. For a natural eyelash look, a maximum of 50 lashes should be applied.

The hairs can then be shortened to the desired length by the cosmetician. The cosmetician fixes each artificial eyelash individually with tweezers. The eyelash extension with single eyelashes costs between 120-400 Euros.
