Medicinal drug

The wormwood herb (Absinthii herba) is used as a medicinal herb. It consists of the whole or cut dried basal foliage leaves or the dried upper shoot parts and foliage leaves collected at flowering time or a mixture of the listed plant parts of L. The pharmacopoeia requires a minimum essential oil content. Extracts and tinctures are prepared from the herb.

Effects

Preparations from wormwood herb have appetizing, digestive, flatulence and choleretic properties. They promote the secretion of digestive juices.

Dosage

According to the patient information. In case of loss of appetite, the drugs are taken half an hour before meals. In case of bloating and flatulence, it is recommended to take it after meals.
