Blueberry: Effect and Side Effects

The drug has vasoprotective (vasoprotective), anti-inflammatory (antiphlogistic) and wound-healing effects, which are mainly attributed to anthocyanins and tannins.

The tannins contained react with proteins of the uppermost mucosal layers, for example in the mouth, throat and digestive tract. This leads to a compaction of the surface and thus to an impeded entry of germs. The formation of a dense membrane (coagulation layer) ultimately also results in reduced fluid leakage into the intestine and consequently in relief of diarrhea symptoms.
