The following symptoms and complaints may occur together with pleurodynia (pleural pain):
Leading symptom
- Pleurodynia (pleural pain): chest pain that worsens with deep breathing movements and with talking, coughing, or sneezing; pain character: cutting.
Associated symptoms
- Breath-dependent pain
- Dyspnea, depending on the size of the pleural effusion
- Irritative cough (without sputum)
- Occasionally fever
