Benedicte herb dosage
The average daily dose is four to six grams of the drug, unless otherwise prescribed.
Benedicte herb as a tea preparation.
To prepare a tea from Benedicte herb, one and a half to two grams of the finely chopped herb (one teaspoon corresponds to about one gram) is poured over boiling water or, alternatively, cold water is added and briefly heated to boiling. After five to ten minutes, the mixture is passed through a tea strainer.
To stimulate appetite, a cup of the unsweetened tea should be drunk one to half an hour before each meal. The effectiveness is better with cold preparations due to the higher bitter content.
Contraindications
The drug should not be taken in case of existing allergies to Benedicte herb or other composite herbs, such as arnica, mugwort, marigold chamomile or yarrow.
Notes on the correct use
Because of their sensitivity to heat, bitter drugs should never be boiled for a long time, but only over-broiled. In cold preparations, the bitter substances remain unchanged – cold macerates are therefore more bitter and therefore more effective.
Appetite stimulation works better if the infusion is kept in the mouth for some time before swallowing. In this way, the reflex effect via the taste buds can fully develop.
Benedicte herb should be stored in a dry place and protected from light.
