Cold chamber
Partly also called cryotherapy and another possibility for the treatment of chronic back pain and rheumatic complaints in general, is the so-called whole body cold therapy (GKT). In this therapy, the patient is exposed to increasingly cold temperatures in a cold chamber until finally about -110°C. Although positive effects have been described several times, the method is still controversial, as no comprehensive studies on its effects have been conducted to date.
