The following symptoms and complaints may indicate keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye syndrome):
- Eye redness
- Foreign body sensation
- Feeling of dryness
- Feeling of pressure
- Burning
- Scratching
- Pruritus (itching)
- Stinging
- Mucus secretion
- Tired eyes
- Puffy eyelids
- Intolerance of contact lenses
- Occasional pain – with drafts, smoke.
- Sensitivity to light/phobia (photophobia).
