ADHD: Brief overview Symptoms: Attention and concentration deficits, hyperactivity (marked restlessness) and impulsivity. Depending on the severity, also dreaminess. Causes and risk factors: Probably predominantly genetic, but unfavorable environmental influences as triggers. Therapy: Behavioral therapy, possibly in combination with medication (e.g. methylphenidate, atomoxetine). Training of parents.
