This active ingredient is in Movicol Junior
The active ingredient in Movicol Junior belongs to the group of osmotic laxatives. These bind fluid in the intestine and soften the stool. The bound fluid in the intestine increases the volume of stool. This stimulates intestinal movement (intestinal peristalsis) and promotes defecation. The medicine contains macrogol 3350 as the main active ingredient. Other active ingredients in Movicol Junior are the electrolytes sodium chloride, sodium hydrogen carbonate and potassium chloride, which are intended to prevent a loss of fluid and electrolytes during treatment with the laxative.
