Prognosis

An occasional complication of therapy is the development of femoral head necrosis, which can take a course similar to that of Perthes disease. If the normal hip anatomy is not completely restored by the therapy, there is a risk of dysplasia coxarthrosis (arthrosis of the hip joint) developing later on.
