Rapid Progressive Glomerulonephritis: Medical History

Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of rapid (rapidly) progressive glomerulonephritis.

Family history

  • Is there a history of frequent kidney disease in your family?

Social history

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Have you been able to detect visible blood in the urine?
  • Have you noticed that your body is bloated?
  • Have you had to cough up blood?
  • Do you have joint pain?
  • Do you have muscle pain?
  • Have you noticed any skin changes?
  • Do you have a fever?
  • Have you gained body weight unintentionally? If so, how much in what time?

Vegetative anamnesis incl. nutritional anamnesis.

  • Have you noticed any changes in the urine in color, quantity, composition, etc.?

Self history including medication history.

  • Amoxicillin
  • Carbimazole
  • Penicillamine
  • Rifampicin
  • Warfarin
