Soapwort is currently commercially available only in a few combination preparations in the form of cough drops. Tea preparations also do not currently exist.
The mean daily dose is 1.5 g of the drug, unless otherwise prescribed.
Preparation of soapwort
To prepare a tea, 0.4 g of the medium-fine cut root (1 teaspoon corresponds to about 2.6 g) is added to about 250 ml of hot or cold water and boiled for a few minutes. Then everything is passed through a tea strainer.
However, the use of soap root in the form of tea is no longer very common.
Storage
Soap root should be stored in a dry place and protected from light.
