Tea preparation is not useful because uzara root is not suitable for ingestion in the form of tea.
Contraindications: When should uzara not be taken?
Uzara root should not be used in children under 2 years of age. Due to lack of experience with the root, pregnant and breastfeeding women should also not take medicines containing uzara root.
Since uzara root immobilizes the intestines, the drug should preferably not be administered in cases of diarrhea caused by bacteria, otherwise there is a risk that any bacterial toxins formed will be excreted with delay and the disease may even worsen.
In addition, please note the information mentioned under “Interactions“.
Special instructions for use
- If diarrhea persists for more than 3-4 days, a doctor should be consulted.
- Since the uzarin contained in the root, when ingested orally, enters the large bloodstream only in small quantities, the toxicity of the plant is very limited. According to observations in patients, the drug is therefore considered safe.
- The mentioned effects on the heart occur first at very high concentrations.
- Uzara root should be stored dry and protected from light.
