Structure and properties
Allethrin (C19H26O3, Mr = 302.4 g/mol) is a mixture of stereoisomers. It belongs to the pyrethroid group. These are synthetically produced, chemically more stable derivatives of the pyrethrins naturally occurring in certain chrysanthemums (, Dalmatian insect flower). The illustration shows allethrin 1.
Effects
Allethrin (ATC P03AC02) is insecticidal and is used against flies, mites, lice, mosquitoes, and cockroaches, among others.
