The medical history (history of the patient) represents an important component in the diagnosis of blindness.

Family history

  • Are there any diseases of the eyes in your family that are common?

Social anamnesis

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • Have you noticed any worsening of vision?
  • How long has this deterioration been present?

Vegetative anamnesis incl. nutritional anamnesis

Own anamnesis incl. medication anamnesis

  • Pre-existing conditions (eye diseases, infections; accidents).
  • Operations (eye surgery)
