Effects

Daunorubicin (ATC L01DB02) is a cytotoxic anthracycline antibiotic. It is isolated from cultures of various Streptomyces strains. By intercalation into DNA, it inhibits topoisomerase II and thereby nucleic acid and protein synthesis and cell division.
