Duration | Scarlet fever in the baby

Duration

Scarlet fever in the baby can last up to 3 weeks. If antibiotic therapy is started early, the symptoms improve significantly after one or two days. After about 4 – 6 days, the rash recedes and a little later the scaling of the skin on the hands and feet begins.

Overall, however, it can take up to 14 days before the babies are no longer chipped and flabby. In rare cases, the disease can be accompanied by a serious course with complications and the occurrence of late effects.
