Effectiveness of the pill through hormone preparations

The pill is itself a hormone preparation. If hormone levels change, as is the case with anti-hormone therapy for breast cancer, the effect of the pill may be limited. Thyroid hormones normally have no influence on the effect of the pill, but an increase in the dose of thyroid hormones may be necessary. Insulin has no influence on the effectiveness of the pill. Depending on the hormone preparation, the interaction should therefore be discussed with the doctor and an additional method of contraception should be used.

Are there natural hormone preparations?

Hormones are substances produced naturally in the body and can also be produced chemically, but they are not foreign chemicals. Some plant substances have a certain influence on the hormone activity in the body. An example of this is the lactating effect of peppermint tea. Complete hormone preparations do not occur naturally, however.
