Foot rash in HIV
A skin rash on the foot can indicate a possible HIV disease. HIV disease is a viral disease that causes damage to the immune system. As with all immune diseases, HIV can also manifest itself in the skin and cause specific symptoms there.
In most cases, the rash first appears in the area of the face or on the trunk of the body, but can also affect the hands and feet. The rash on the feet presents itself in the form of small, blotchy or knotty structures that appear slightly whitish. These nodules can itch slightly and usually appear in the first phase of the disease after a recent infection. As the disease progresses, the small nodules and the rash disappear again and small inflammatory changes manifest themselves mainly in the area of the mucous membranes.
