Structure and properties
Halometasone (C22H27ClF2O5, Mr = 444.9 g/mol) is a chlorinated and fluorinated (halogenated) steroid.
Effects
Halometasone (ATC D07AC12) has anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, and immunosuppressive properties. It is a potent class III glucocorticoid, and its effects are based on binding to cytoplasmic receptors.
Indications
For the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions.
Dosage
According to the professional information. The cream is applied once or twice a day.

- Skin tuberculosis
- Rosacea
- Perioral dermatitis
- Acne vulgaris
- Ulcerated skin areas
- In and around the eye
- In the auditory canal in the case of a perforation of the eardrum.

There are no known drug-drug interactions.
Adverse effects
The most common potential adverse effects include local reactions such as irritation, burning, and itching. Prolonged, excessive, and occlusive use may cause typical steroid side effects on the skin.
