Idoxuridine (C9H11IN2O5, Mr = 354.1 g/mol) is a white crystalline powder that is sparingly soluble in water.
Effects
Idoxuridine (ATC D06BB01) is antiviral against herpes viruses. It is an antimetabolite and is incorporated into viral DNA.
Indications
For the treatment of herpes simplex infections of the skin and transitional epithelia.
