Legionellosis: Medical History

Medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of legionellosis.

Family history

  • What is the current health status of your family members?

Social history

  • Have you been traveling recently?

Current medical history/systemic history (somatic and psychological complaints).

  • What symptoms have you noticed?
  • Do you feel listless? Do you have a fever?
  • Do you have a cough? If so, is this productive, that is, do you have sputum?
  • Do you suffer from headache / limb pain?
  • Do you have diarrhea or vomiting?

Vegetative anamnesis including nutritional anamnesis.

  • Do you smoke? If yes, how many cigarettes, cigars or pipes per day?
  • Do you drink alcohol? If yes, what drink(s) and how many glasses per day?

Self history incl. medication history.

  • Pre-existing conditions (chronic lung disease, HIV infection).
  • Surgeries
  • Allergies

  • Glucocorticoid therapy
