Potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH2PO4, Mr = 136.1 g/mol) is the monopotassium salt of phosphoric acid. It exists as a white, crystalline and odorless powder or as colorless crystals. The salt is readily soluble in water and reacts acidically in solution. K+H2PO4–
Application areas
Potassium dihydrogen phosphate is used in pharmacy as an excipient in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals. It is mainly contained in liquid dosage forms and is used for the production of buffers or as an acidity regulator Furthermore, potassium dihydrogen phosphate is also used for food and for chemical experiments (crystal formation).
