Salicylamide (C7H7NO2, Mr = 137.1 g/mol) is an amide of salicylic acid.

Effects

Salicylamide (ATC N02BA05) has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties.

Indications

For the local treatment of teething discomfort.

Interactions

No interactions with other drugs are known to date.

Adverse effects

Possible adverse effects include allergic reactions. There is a theoretical risk of developing Reye’s syndrome (very rare).
