- Endoscopy (reflection) of the nose and nasopharynx (nasopharynx).
- Loupe laryngoscopy (method of indirect laryngoscopy) – to exclude laryngitis (inflammation of the larynx) or malignant (malignant) processes.
- X-ray of the paranasal sinuses – if sinusitis (sinusitis) is suspected.
- X-ray of the thorax (X-ray thorax / chest), in two planes – if pneumonia is suspected.
- Electrocardiogram (ECG; recording of the electrical activity of the heart muscle) – if rheumatic fever is suspected.
- Echocardiography (echo; heart ultrasound) – if rheumatic fever is suspected.
- Abdominal sonography (ultrasound examination of the abdominal organs) – when glomerulonephritis is suspected in rheumatic fever.
- X-ray of the affected joints – if rheumatic fever is suspected.
- Computed tomography (CT; sectional imaging procedure (X-ray images taken from different directions with computer-based evaluation)) of the neck – if peritonsillar abscess (abscess formation in the loose connective tissue surrounding the palatine tonsil)/retropharyngeal abscess (abscess in the cleft space behind the pharynx) is suspected.
