Turner Syndrome: Medical History

The medical history (history of illness) represents an important component in the diagnosis of Turner syndrome.

Family history

  • Do congenital malformations run in your family?

Social history

Current anamnesis / systemic anamnesis (somatic and psychological complaints) – also due toclarification of secondary diseases.

  • Do you have a menstrual period? [Amenorrhea (absence of menstruation)]
  • Are you delayed in reaching puberty?
  • Do you suffer from frequent back pain? [osteoporosis]
  • Do you have frequent bone fractures? [Osteoporosis]
  • Is your hearing impaired? [Hypacusis (hearing loss)]
  • Have you had headaches and dizziness associated with fever and feelings of weakness in childhood? [Otitis media (middle ear infection)]
  • Do you have a pronounced amount of moles?
  • Do you suffer from clotting disorders? [hemophilia]
