Household remedy against wasp stings

The skin reactions that occur during a wasp sting are mainly caused by the distribution of the poison transmitted by the sting. Therefore, for centuries it has been a wisdom that the sting should be sucked out immediately after the sting to prevent as much of the poison as possible from spreading. When speaking by mouth, however, there is the danger that the poison is absorbed through the mucous membrane of the mouth and thus also reaches the organism.

In pharmacies or drugstores there are therefore special insect venom removers. How meaningful and effective the sucking out really is, is however controversial. The effectiveness of numerous other household remedies in the treatment of wasp bites has also not been reliably proven. The only certain finding is that patients with an insect venom allergy have a significantly increased risk of an allergic shock, so that the use of an emergency medication should always be considered

Lavender

Among the household remedies recommended for treating the skin symptoms of wasp bites is lavender oil. Lavender oil is one of the essential oils. To treat wasp stings, a few drops should be applied directly to the skin. Alternatively, a few drops can be applied to a cotton ball, which can then be rubbed into the affected area of skin.
