Voltaren Dispers: How it works

This active ingredient is in Voltaren Dispers

The active ingredient in Voltaren Dispers (diclofenac) is a drug from the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). This group of active substances has an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effect at the same time.

When is Voltaren Dispers used?

Voltaren Dispers is dissolved in water and is therefore particularly easy to take, the onset of action is faster. The drug is used to treat pain and inflammation. The main area of application for Voltaren Dispers is inflammation of the musculoskeletal system, such as irritation in degenerative joint and spinal diseases (arthrosis and spondyloarthrosis).

The medicine may also be taken for painful swelling, inflammation after injury or minor surgery.

What are the side effects of Voltaren Dispers?

Whether side effects occur depends, among other things, on the Voltaren Dispers dosage. At low doses, side effects occur mainly in the digestive tract: Nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, indigestion, abdominal pain, bloating, and loss of appetite are common. Likewise, skin rashes, headache, fatigue, drowsiness, irritability, dizziness, agitation and an increase in liver values (transaminases increase) may occur.

This is what you should keep in mind when using Voltaren Dispers.

The tablets are dissolved in a glass of water and subsequently drunk. It is recommended to take Voltaren Dispers during or after meals. The recommended dose for adults is 1-3 tablets per day.

The medicine should not be taken in case of:

  • known hypersensitivity to the active substance of the medicine or to any of its components
  • previously experienced narrowing of the respiratory tract, asthma attacks, swelling of the nasal mucous membranes or skin reactions, if they were caused by taking medicines of the substance group ASA (acetylsalyicylic acid) or other NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs)
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding or rupture (perforation) in the history in connection with a previous therapy with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) known stomach or intestinal ulcers

  • in the last trimester of pregnancy

Voltaren Dispers should not be taken by children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Interactions with other medicines

Voltaren Dispers may interact with other medicines and should therefore be taken only after consultation with your doctor if you are taking the following medicines:
