Cialis for Erectile Dysfunction

This active ingredient is in Cialis

Compared to other active ingredients in this group, the Cialis active ingredient has a significantly longer half-life. The effect can last up to 36 hours. Thus, the Cialis duration of action allows spontaneous sexuality.

When is Cialis used?

The Cialis effect is additionally used for the treatment of benign prostate syndrome. Furthermore, the active ingredient of the drug provides better blood flow to the lungs and could thus lead to improved performance during physical activity.

What are the side effects of Cialis?

In the event of sudden side effects, consult a doctor immediately, who will decide on an individual basis whether the drug should be discontinued or the dosage regulated.

Overdose

Cialis side effects may increase if the dosage of the medication is higher than recommended. If necessary, a doctor should be consulted in this case to decide on further steps. The drug can be discontinued at any time, but this also means that the effect you actually want will fade away.

What you should keep in mind when using Cialis

Cialis must not be taken by:

  • concomitant treatment with organic nitrates or nitric oxide donors (e.g., amyl nitrite) for the treatment of hypertension or angina pectoris
  • heart disease or after a recent heart attack
  • and after a stroke
  • low or uncontrolled high blood pressure (treated with alpha-blockers, for example)
  • allergy to tadalafil or excipients (e.g., lactose)

For the risk groups listed below, Cialis use is recommended only after consultation with the treating physician:

  • sickle cell disease
  • multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer)
  • leukemia (blood cancer)
  • in case of pathological deformation of the penis

Taking CYP3A4 inhibitors at the same time (e.g., certain drugs for fungal diseases or antibiotics) or drinking grapefruit juice may favor the occurrence of side effects.

Cialis can be taken daily or as needed. For daily use, the 5 mg film-coated tablet is suitable. This type of therapy is recommended for patients who want to be sexually active at least twice a week and for patients who are being treated for benign prostatic syndrome. In patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency, the daily Cialis dosage can be lowered to 2.5 mg.

The 10 mg and 20 mg Cialis tablets are used for planned sexual intercourse. As a starting dose, 10 mg should be taken at least 30 minutes before planned sexual intercourse. If needed, the doctor may increase the dose to 20 mg daily. This Cialis dosage is not suitable for daily use due to the then increased side effects.

Things to know about Cialis

There are many generic Cialis products on the international market. These are imitation preparations of the original with the same active ingredient. However, on the Internet you can find Cialis generics that are available without a prescription and at much lower prices. These preparations should always be used with caution. Prior consultation with a doctor is strongly recommended, as improper use can result in serious side effects, including death.
