- The complaints are aggravated by cold, in the evening and at night
- Improvement through warm wrapping

- Chronic, dry eczema with much itching, especially at night, and strong sensitivity to water
- Grey skin and aversion to cold washing
- Irritable, grumpy nature, pessimistic and depressive
- Unpleasant body odor
- Interactions between internal diseases and skin diseases are typical (e.g. eczema associated with asthma)
- Aggravation of the complaints in the evening, after midnight, in the warmth of the bed, wetness and cold
- Improvement in warm and dry weather
