Laboratory parameters of the 2nd order – depending on the results of the medical history, physical examination, etc. – for differential diagnostic clarification
- Small blood count
- Differential blood count
- Inflammatory parameters – CRP (C-reactive protein) or ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate).
- Mycological or microbiological examinations – if inflammatory changes are suspected.
- Nail clipping for histopathological (fine tissue) examination – if mycosis (fungal disease) is suspected.
- Fasting glucose (fasting blood sugar)
- Rheumatoid factor (RF)
- Cardolipin antibody – for suspected systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
- CCP antibodies (cyclic citrulline peptide antibodies) – in suspected rheumatoid arthritis.
- ANA (antinuclear antibodies) – when collagenosis such as systemic lupus erythematosus is suspected.
- Liver parameters – alanine aminotransferase (ALT, GPT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST, GOT), glutamate dehydrogenase (GLDH) and gamma-glutamyl transferase (gamma-GT, GGT).
- Renal parameters – urea, creatinine, cystatin C or creatinine clearance, as appropriate.
