Blocked Nose (Nasal Congestion): Secondary Diseases

The following are the most important diseases or complications that may be contributed to by a stuffy nose:

Psyche – Nervous System (F00-F99; G00-G99).

Symptoms and abnormal clinical and laboratory findings not elsewhere classified (R00-R99).

  • Dysosmia (olfactory disorder; olfactory disorder).
  • Rhonchopathy (snoring) – an existing rhonchopathy can be aggravated by obstructed nasal breathing or its therapeutic success can be reduced (the same applies to obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, OSAS/breathing stops during sleep, which are caused by obstruction of the airways and often occur several hundred times per night)
  • Xerostomia (dry mouth) – due to mouth breathing because of blocked nose.
