The following symptoms and complaints may indicate cardiac arrhythmias:
- Bradycardia (heartbeat that is too slow: <60 beats per minute).
- Tachycardia (heartbeat too fast: > 100 beats per minute).
- Palpitations (heart palpitations), often accompanied by feelings of anxiety.
- Pulsations in the neck area
- Heart stuttering / irregular pulse (arrhythmia absoluta).
Secondary symptoms
- Fatigue
- Drowsiness
- Paleness
- Dyspnea (shortness of breath)
- Hypotension
- Fatigue
- Pectanginous complaints / angina symptoms (cardiac stenosis).
- Polyuria (urinary flooding), especially after tachycardia (due toincreased ANP secretion (atrial natriuretic peptide)).
- Vertigo (dizziness)
- Confusion
- Syncope (brief loss of consciousness caused by reduced blood flow to the brain).
- Thoracic pain (chest pain)
- Rapid loss of consciousness (in ventricular flutter, ventricular fibrillation).
- Seizure
- Heart failure (cardiac insufficiency)
- Respiratory arrest
