Pathognomonic (indicative of a disease)
- Speculum setting (speculum: medical examination instrument used to examine the vagina, cervix): Prolapse (prolapse) of the amniotic sac.
- Ultrasound (vaginal/through the vagina): in the course of pregnancy, increasing shortening of the cervix (cervical length) and the opening of the inner cervix without contractions.
- Vaginal examination: opening of the cervical canal (cervical canal) for finger patency.
Leading symptoms
The peculiarity of cervical insufficiency is that it occurs silently and without a clear symptomatology, especially without contractions or contractions. Indicative signs may be:
- Downward pressure
