Combination with the electric toothbrush
In addition to the typical small, manually applied interdental brushes, there are also products advertised on the market as electric interdental brushes. There are no purely electric interdental space brushes. The manufacturers of electric toothbrushes often advertise their ability to clean the interdental spaces.
However, an electric toothbrush cannot completely replace the function of an interdental space brush. In some cases, there are additional interdental attachments that can be used to rinse the interdental spaces. In general, an electric interdental brush has no advantages over manual brushes, since the latter are only passed through the interdental space 2-3 times.
Furthermore, the manual brushes can be adjusted and adapted to the interdental space. In summary, it can be said that the products advertised as electric interdental brushes have no advantages over manual brushes.
